Dalmatia contains some wonderful old cities dating back to Roman times. Biograd itself flourished as the centre of Croatian rule in the Middle Ages, and in 1102 the Croato-Hungarian king Colomanus was crowned there. Cultural artefacts and treasures from this period are proudly stored and displayed in Biograd's Homeland Museum (Zavičajni muzej).

The nearby cities of Zadar, Šibenik and Split are equally steeped in culture and history and offer some fantastic sights for visitors who take a day trip to the cities.
